About Your Visit

The length of your appointment can vary based on the severity and complexity of your eye condition. As we are a referral practice, with frequent and unpredictable emergencies sent to us for our immediate attention, our appointment schedule at times may be delayed. The average appointment length is about two hours.

What to Bring

Please be prepared to bring the following with you to your appointment:

• Current insurance cards/information
• Current drivers license or identification
• A list of current medications
• Diabetic patients might want to consider bringing a snack
• Insurance authorization/referral if your insurance requires this for specialist office visit
• Copay/Deductible

When You Arrive

Upon your arrival, our staff will enter and update your registration and insurance information. Please have your insurance cards, driver license, a list of current medications, and your copay/deductible. You may fill our your registration forms prior to your arrival.

Your Exam

You will initially be seen by one of our technicians who will take your medical and ocular history, check your vision, and dilate your eyes. The physician will then examine you. Based on their findings, you may need further testing such as photography, fluorescein angiography, optical coherence tomography and ultrasound.

If you need treatment, such as a laser or an intra-ocular injection, this procedure may be done the same day or may be scheduled for another time. If surgery will be required, we will work with you to schedule the surgery appointment.
